Ørsted is inviting applications for its apprenticeship program for offshore wind turbine technicians in the UK.

Ørsted is offering 12 places for those that are looking to change their careers or are finishing their education, with the application period closing on 5 July.

The three-year program is expected to begin in September and will see apprentices spending the first year of the studies at a local college, the Danish company said.

While at college, the group will work towards the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) level three, as well as a BTEC Diploma.

The group will also be able to travel to take part in specific technical and health and safety training which will be hosted across the UK and Denmark.

After completing the program, the technicians will be providing maintenance and inspections at Ørsted’s 11 operational UK offshore wind farms.

“Once these vacancies have been filled, we’ll have an impressive cohort of 22 apprentices across three-year groups,” said Robert Howes, Learning and Development Senior Specialist.

“The renewables sector is still so new but it’s storming ahead and grabbing people’s interest along the way. This could be someone’s perfect opportunity to start on their journey to an extremely rewarding career path.”
