Ørsted names country manager in Japan

Ørsted has appointed Jun Kasamatsu as its new Country Manager for Japan, effective from 24 August.

According to the Danish company, Kasamatsu is an experienced leader with over 20 years of professional experience in renewable energy, structured finance, and investment banking. 

“As Country Manager for Japan, Jun will develop our growing team in Japan. Furthermore, he will expand our presence and visibility in Japan, mature and grow our business and collaborate with key partners and stakeholders in Japan,” said Matthias Bausenwein, President of Ørsted Asia-Pacific.

Ørsted announced its entry into the Japanese offshore wind market in March through a partnership with Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings (TEPCO), Japan’s largest power company.

The two parties established the joint venture company Choshi Offshore Wind Farm K.K. to develop the Choshi 1 offshore wind project in the Chiba Prefecture.
