Correll to back ZTT on German offshore wind farms

Ørsted hires Correll for cable fault-finding and repair in UK, US and Taiwan

Operations & Maintenance

Ørsted has awarded three multi-year framework agreements for fault-finding, diagnostic and dry repair of cables at its offshore wind farms in the UK, the U.S., and Taiwan to Correll Group.

The agreements have been signed for an initial period of three years and Ørsted has also selected the UK-based Correll Group, a subsidiary of the multi-technical services provider to the energy and communications sectors, SPIE, as a preferred partner for fault-finding and repair services.

Under the three framework agreements, Correll will deliver the services for export and array, offshore and onshore, high voltage (HV) and fibre optic (FO) cables across Ørsted’s wind farms in the three locations.

The scope involves determining a fault location, the failure mode, diagnostics and, where required, repairs to the HV/FO system onshore or in a “dry location” offshore, including the provision of HV and FO methodologies for the diagnostics and any consequent repairs.

Correll already has a framework agreement in place for the same work on Ørsted’s European projects since 2021, meaning the UK company is now the global cable fault-finding and repair services provider to the offshore wind developer.
