Optime to Deliver Hyperbaric Testing System to Nautilus

Optime Subsea has signed a contract with German Nautilus Marine Service GmbH for the delivery of a new hyperbaric testing system.

The 19,000-psi hyperbaric pressure vessel will be manufactured by Optime Subsea in Notodden, Norway, located in the Norwegian subsea oil and gas cluster known as “Subsea Valley”.

The hyperbaric testing chamber will have a diameter of 700 mm and a height of 1400 mm. It will be delivered and installed at Nautilus’ newly upgraded facility in Q3 of 2017.

The parties did not disclose the value of the contract.

Steffen Pausch, managing director of Nautilus said: “We selected Optime Subsea as the preferred provider due to the system’s technical and operational benefits. The system enables us to increase the efficiencies of our testing with little impact on the system lifetime, making this an investment that will provide increased value for our customers immediately and increased returns for us within a short period of time.

“With this system delivered, we are also considering including external testing offerings, which would support the region’s different manufacturing disciplines and industries in increased testing capabilities where deep water tests and simulations are necessary.”
