OOCL Adds Fifth G Class Boxship to Its Fleet

Hong Kong-based container shipping company OOCL has introduced another ambassador of world trade, the OOCL Scandinavia.

The vessel is the fifth one in the company’s series of six G Class containerships on order at South Korea’s Samsung Heavy Industry (SHI) shipyard.

With a capacity to carry 21,413 TEU containership, OOCL Scandinavia will be joining its sister vessels the OOCL Hong Kong, OOCL Germany, OOCL Japan and OOCL United Kingdom on OOCL’s LL1 service, linking major markets in China and Northern Europe.

The 191,317 dwt ship will have the following port rotation: Shanghai / Ningbo / Xiamen / Yantian / Singapore / via Suez Canal / Felixstowe / Rotterdam / Gdansk / Wilhelmshaven / Felixstowe / via Suez Canal / Singapore / Yantian / Shanghai in a 77-day round trip.
