Jeonnam Offshore Wind Power was founded in 2020 as a 51-49 joint venture between SK E&S and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP).

The developers reached a financial close on the project in October 2023.

The 99 MW Jeonnam 1 offshore wind project is being built off the coast of Shinan County, Jeonnam Province.

The wind farm will use Mokpo New Port, close to the Jeonnam 1 site, as a marshaling port for the assembly process.

Those involved in the construction include Hyundai Engineering and Steel Industries, Hyundai Electric and Gaon, KT Submarine, and LS Cable and System, which was selected by the developers as the submarine cable package contractor.

The Jeonnam 1 offshore wind farm is expected to be completed by the end of 2024, according to information published by the joint venture last year.
