Asset integrity management specialist XPD8 Solutions has secured contracts worth a combined £4million for work in the North Sea and Africa and boosted its senior management team.

The Aberdeen-based company has added contracts to its order book for condition monitoring services, taking it through to March 2019, for Wood Group, on behalf of Dana Petroleum, and Apache on the UK Continental Shelf and with a further operator in Equatorial Guinea.

In addition, the company has promoted Gordon Ellis, who leads the condition monitoring department, to the position of operations director. He previously held the role of condition monitoring manager

XPD8 is recognised as a leader in maintenance engineering, condition monitoring and integrity services for the oil & gas sector. The company’s international reach has grown over the past 12 months to cover Europe, South East Asia and Africa.

As a result of the increased workload XPD8 will create a further five posts within its condition monitoring department over the next 12 months.

With more than 20 years industry experience, Ellis joined the company during 2005 the same year that the condition monitoring department was formed. The department, which currently has 20 members of staff, implements programmes that record the age and state of apparatus to improve reliability, prolong equipment life and minimise the risk of failure.

Ellis said: “Our recent contract wins demonstrate the growing recognition of the value effective condition monitoring can bring to operators looking to ensure the integrity of their assets.

“We had a strong year in 2013 and these latest contracts have been part of an encouraging start to 2014. We are continuing to grow and have received interest from businesses all over the world in our services.”
