Oil companies work on reducing risk of major accidents

The purpose of the audit was to investigate the basis on which the companies, whether as principals or contractors, were evaluating through different milestones and opportunities the fulfilment of the conditions for their Acknowledgements of Compliance (AoC).

Each individual company gave an account of the basis on which it evaluates that a facility complies with and is operated in accordance with the requirements the company imposes on the facility and its operation, including the preconditions for the AoC, with respect to the risk of major accidents.

The audit confirmed that all the companies, through improvement work and efforts to reduce the risk of major accidents, understand their responsibility for safeguarding the preconditions on which the AoC scheme is based.
