1. Gallery: Fire on Alaska platform contained 

In October, fire broke out on the Baker platform, in the Cook Inlet of Alaska.

 

2. Gallery: Two injured in protest against offshore drilling (Canary Islands)

In September, one activist was hospitalised and another injured as Spanish Navy boats repeatedly rammed Greenpeace boats engaged in a protest by Greenpeace Spain against oil drilling in the Canary Islands, Spain.

 

 

3. Gallery: Samsung Heavy Industries delivers Maersk Viking Drillship

In February, Maersk Drilling has taken delivery of its first ultra deepwater drillship, Maersk Viking, from the Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) shipyard in Geoje-Si, South Korea.

 

 

4. Gallery: Naviera orders two crew suppliers from Damen

Dutch Damen Shipyards has received an order to deliver two fast crew supply vessels to its Mexican client Naviera Integral. The contract was signed during the Offshore Energy 2014 event, held in October, in the Amsterdam RAI, The Netherlands.

5. Gallery: Jack-up Maersk Interceptor gets AoC from PSA

Maersk Drilling’s jack-up rig Maersk Interceptor received an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) from the PSA Norway in December this year.

 

6. Gallery: First oil flows from Eni’s West Hub (Angola)

Eni started production of first oil from the West Hub Development Project in Block 15/06 in the Angolan Deep Offshore.

In March, Dolphin Geophysical & Sanco Shipping held a naming ceremony for the 3D seismic vessel Sanco Sword at Myklebust Yard in Norway.
