According to OPT, the WAM-V is designed to adapt to various marine environments and applications and will bolster Sulmara’s capabilities in various subsea applications, including hydrographic survey, remote inspections, UXO detections, and environmental monitoring, across many markets, including offshore wind development.

The two companies partnered up in the summer of 2022 to develop advanced uses for the WAM-V vehicles and executed a long-term master service agreement to facilitate Sulmara’s leasing of WAM-Vs.

OPT then announced in October 2023 that it had received an order valued at $1.6 million from Sulmara for multiple WAM-Vs, representing the largest single order of WAM-Vs to date.

“The delivery of these vehicles is testament to the execution ability of our team. We continue to convert pipeline to backlog to revenues to payments,” said Philipp Stratmann, CEO and President of OPT.

“We are grateful to work with exceptional partners like Sulmara, who continue to deliver renewable and autonomous services for the global offshore energy industry. We look forward to future deliveries and additional opportunities to deploy our assets globally.”
