Norwegian shipping company sells another supply vessel

Business & Finance

Norwegian provider of offshore vessels Farstad Shipping has sold another one of its platform supply vessels (PSV) to an unnamed client.

Last week Farstad sold its 1991-built PSV Far Scandia, and this week it was Lady Grace’s turn.

Namely, the shipping company reported on Friday that the 2001-built PSV Lady Grace was sold to an unidentified buyer. The supply vessel was delivered to the buyer on Thursday, January 21, 2016.

According to Farstad, the sale has been conducted on behalf of the wholly owned subsidiary P/R International Offshore Services ANS.

“The sale of the vessel is a part of the company’s strategy for the further fleet development, and the market prospect for this kind of tonnage,” the shipping company explained.

Farstad added that the sale of the vessel would give a book loss of approximately NOK 49 million ($5.6M) in the fourth quarter 2015.

The Lady Grace is a supply vessel of a UT 755 design built by Aker Brevik. It is 67 m long with 16 m breadth, and its deadweight is 2936mt. This PSV can accommodate 25 persons.
