The 1981-built jack-up had spent its last couple of years in the Middle East, having last worked for Dubai Petroleum offshore UAE.

Noble Cold stacked the rig in late 2017 following its contract expiration.

In a fleet status report last week Noble said it had sold the Japan-built rig of Modec 300C-38 design in May.

Noble did not disclose the value of the sale, nor the identity of the buyer, however, it is most likely the rig was sold for scrap steel given its age.

VesselsValue, a website providing information on vessels and rigs, has the rig’s market value listed at $2.96 million, and a demolition value at $2.01 million.
