NOAA Reappoints Fugro’s USA President to HSRP

Fugro’s USA president Edward Saade has been reappointed by the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to its Hydrographic Services Review Panel (HSRP).

The 15-member federal advisory committee comprises individuals with a range of maritime expertise to provide independent recommendations for improved navigation services and coastal resilience.

I am honoured to be reappointed for a second 4-year term on the HSRP. The panel members are extremely hard-working and focus on a wide variety of topics related to NOAA charting, integrated ocean and coastal mapping, lidar and remote sensing, shoreline data and elevations, water levels, tides currents and sea level trends, PORTS, interagency cooperation and synergies, and other aspects of NOAA’s mission that rely on hydrographic or geospatial information. Their activities are vital to improving the quality, efficiency, and usefulness of NOAA’s navigation-related products, data, and services and the blue economy. Best of all are the biannual public meetings, which enable civic access and have fostered a high level of stakeholder and agency participation. It’s gratifying to learn what really matters in diverse locations across the US, from Alaska to Miami, the Great Lakes to the Gulf Coast, and all along the West Coast, and use that information to provide recommendations to the NOAA Administrator,” Edward Saade said.

As the current chair of the HSRP, Saade has served on the panel since 2016.
