Nexans is scheduled to carry out the pull-in of the export cable 1.2 to the first Offshore Transformer Module (OTM)  at the Beatrice offshore wind farm site. The works are scheduled to start on 24 February and to be completed by 2 March.

Using its cable laying vessel Nexans Skagerrak and an ROV, Nexans will retrieve the cable end of the export cable from the seabed and engage it into the J-tube of the OTM via messenger wire. The team on the OTM 1 will then pull the cable end through the J-tube using a tugger winch on the cable deck of the OTM, bring the export cable into the pull-in quadrant on the cable deck and complete the pull-in.

The accommodation and walk-to-work vessel Island Crown will be supporting the works.

The installation of the first Siemens Offshore Transformer Module at the Beatrice site was completed a few days ago, with the topside placed on its jacket foundation that was installed earlier this month. The 588MW offshore wind farm will feature two Siemens OTMs  and 84 Siemens Gamesa 7MW wind turbines, all mounted on jacket foundations.
