New CEO at BW Group

BW Group has announced that it has appointed Carsten Mortensen as Group CEO.

Current BW Group CEO Andreas Sohmen-Pao will join the BW Group Board of Directors and remain actively involved in the group, including on the board of subsidiaries BW Offshore, BW LPG and BW Pacific.

BW has significantly broadened its scope of activity in the past decade across multiple maritime sectors and is well positioned for future growth.

Andreas Sohmen-Pao says: “Carsten is an outstanding leader in the maritime sector and is an ideal candidate to lead BW into the next phase of growth. We warmly welcome Carsten to the team”.

BW Group is a global maritime group involved in oil and gas transportation, floating gas infrastructure, environmental technologies and deepwater production. Through its predecessor companies, Bergesen and World-Wide Shipping, BW has been delivering energy and other vital commodities for more than 75 years.

BW’s fleet of over 130 vessels includes crude oil supertankers, refined oil tankers, LNG and LPG carriers, chemical tankers and floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) units.
