New CEO Appointed at National Subsea Research Institute (UK)

Aberdeen based research organisation National Subsea Research Institute (NSRI) has appointed David Pridden as CEO. Pridden is well known to the UK’s subsea community.

NSRI Chairman Bill Edgar said: ‘Through his championship of the Subsea 2020 vision when he was inaugural CEO of Subsea UK, he was the original driving force behind the concept which led to the formation of NSRI. I am sure he will successfully build on the foundations laid by the inaugural CEO Professor Albert Rodger’.

Pridden said: ‘I am delighted to be given the opportunity to further develop NSRI. The commitment and enthusiasm shown by universities and industry has been very encouraging and I would hope that we can build on this support as we start to deliver a focussed, subsea research and development programme here in the UK.’

Participating universities are the University of Aberdeen, Robert Gordon University, University of Dundee and Newcastle University. NSRI’s industry steering group now comprises 21 companies: Aker Solutions, Atkins, Acergy, BP, Cameron, Chevron, CNR International, FMC Technologies, Fugro, Kongsberg, Lloyds Register, Nautronix, Nexen, Petrofac, Shell, Subsea 7, Talisman, Technip, Total, Wellstream International Ltd and Wood Group.
