The technology leverages artificial intelligence (AI) and radar-based measurements to provide highly accurate, real-time predictions of wave fields and vessel motions, enabling safer and more efficient offshore operations.

PredictifAI is an add-on to Miros’ existing WaveSystem and delivers deterministic predictions seconds to minutes in advance, automatically adapting to varying sea and weather conditions, the company noted.

The system is said to eliminate the need for calibration, modeling, or digital twins, making it a versatile tool for various offshore applications, including crane lifts, anchor handling, ROV deployment, and walk-to-work operations.

“PredictifAI reduces the unknowns from measured statistical wave parameters and forecasts, offering a reliable solution for complex and multimodal sea states,” Miros noted.

The technology employs a dual-measurement concept, combining X-band radar remote sensing with local downward wave measurements. This ensures continuous monitoring of prediction accuracy, even in challenging conditions.

PredictifAI supports real-time decision-making by predicting incoming single waves, wave trains, and vessel motion patterns. According to the company, this capability enhances operational safety and efficiency by extending weather windows, mitigating risks during crew transfers, and optimizing timing for critical offshore activities.

Miros highlighted the system’s utility for dynamic positioning (DP), heavy lifts, and other weather-critical operations where precise wave and motion predictions are important. PredictifAI integrates advanced AI with radar technology to enhance short-term wave forecasting capabilities for the offshore industry.
