The delivery ceremony for the 60,300 dwt vessel was held at Oshima Shipbuilding, Nagasaki Prefecture, on October 31, 2019.

MOL will operate the 122,499 cbm ship which will transport wood chips for Hokuetsu Corporation.

The vessel is equipped with a SOx scrubber and ballast water management system (BWMS) to comply with stricter environmental regulations. It features advanced technologies such as a bow shape that reduces the decline in vessel speed during adverse weather, a hull shape with improved stern shape, energy-saving equipment to improve propulsion efficiency as well as propeller boss cap fins (PBCF).

The environmentally friendly vessel also features an electronically controlled engine and low-friction ship bottom paint, achieving a significant reduction of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions in comparison with ordinary wood chip carriers.

With a length of 210 meters and a width of 37 meters, the newbuild flies the flag of Panama.
