MMA said it had been awarded the contract by Santos to support its 2019 jack-up drilling campaign.

The contract is for the provision of three vessels to support the drilling campaign, including two anchor handling tug supply vessels and a platform supply vessel. The contract started in February and is expected to run for at least six months.

The scope of services includes rig tows to and from field, infield rig moves and platform supply duties in support of the Noble Tom Prosser rig offshore Australia.

To remind, Santos secured the 2014-built Noble Tom Prosser rig for its Dorado appraisal campaign located in WA-437-P last December. The campaign is scheduled to start in April this year and the rig is expected to stay with Santos until October 2019.

The 2019 drilling program is expected to include two Dorado appraisal wells that will focus on gaining further information on the volume of oil, gas and condensate discovered in the Dorado-1 well to build proved reserves which will underpin the Dorado development.

The wells will also focus on determining the flow properties of those hydrocarbons from the reservoirs intersected in order to optimize the Dorado development and obtaining additional data at different locations within the Dorado field.
