Malaysian LNG shipper MISC, a unit of energy giant Petronas, has taken delivery of a new liquefied natural gas carrier the Seri Camar.

It is the fourth in a series of five MOSS-Type Seri C Class liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers built for MISC by the South Korean shipyard Hyundai Heavy Industries.

The vessel is capable of transporting 150,200 cubic meters of the chilled fuel and features an integrated hull structure with four spherical tanks shielded by a
continuous cover, allowing for operation in even the harshest marine environments.

Seri Camar joins her sister MOSS-Type newbuilds Seri Cenderawasih, Seri Camellia and Seri Cempaka on long-term charter to Petronas, MISC said in a statement on Wednesday.

The vessel was delivered at a naming ceremony at the HHI shipyard in Ulsan, South Korea.

MISC added that the MOSS-Type newbuilds are a part of the company’s fleet expansion programme and have been designed with global trading capability.

The delivery of Seri Camar brings the current number of MISC’s LNG fleet to 28 vessels, the company said.
