Ports & Logistics

22 out of 66 GE HaliadeTM 150-6MW turbines have so far been installed on the Merkur offshore wind farm in the German North Sea, Merkur Offshore GmbH reports.

The jack-up vessel Seafox 5 installed the first wind turbine at the site some 45km north of the island of Borkum in early March.

The remaining 44 units are expected to be transported from the logistics hub in Eemshaven, the Netherlands, and installed on the wind farm by September 2018, with commissioning activities continuing until the end of the year.

The 396MW offshore wind farm is scheduled to be fully commissioned in 2019.

Merkur Offshore GmbH is a joint venture between Partners Group, InfraRed Capital Partners, DEME Concessions and Coriolis.
