Inter-Departmental Marine Coordination Group’s (MCG) ‘Harnessing Our Ocean Wealth – Review of Progress 2014’ report provides an update on Irish marine sector key activities undertaken in 2014, and offers an overview of expectations for 2015.

The report sets out the work done in 2014 to implement the actions outlined in the Integrated Marine Plan.

The Integrated Marine Plan identified 3 goals: to develop a thriving maritime economy, protect and conserve healthy marine eco systems, and increase Ireland’s engagement with the sea.

Highlights from this year’s report include the launch of SEAI led Ocean Energy Portal, SmartBay Ireland National Infrastructure Access Programme funded by Dublin City University, and the signing the European Marine Test Site Memorandum of Understanding, amongst others.

The report also lists institutions, organisations and companies who are working towards building a strong maritime industry in Ireland.
