Business & Finance

Maritime Research Institute Netherlands (MARIN) is providing two weeks of free technology testing at its Concept Basin for five projects.

MARIN, a provider of advanced expertise and independent research to the maritime and offshore industry, is offering free basin slots for developers to conduct feasibility checks and improvements for the concepts that are in the early development phase.

Besides the two weeks’ free basin time, the offer includes a one-day workshop with a MARIN Project Manager and Project Engineer.

The 2017 call closes on December 1, 2016, after which MARIN will select five projects that will participate in the free testing initiative.

The call is open for all innovative ideas, but according to MARIN, the Dutch SMEs that apply to participate will be given a preference.

The MARIN Concept Basin is 220 m long, 4 m wide, with a depth of 4 m. It is equipped with a single flap wave maker on one end and a parabolic wave absorbing beach at the other end. The basin is filled with fresh water.
