Magseis in North Sea seismic survey

Business & Finance

Norwegian geophysical Magseis has been awarded a contract by an unnamed client in the North Sea.

According to its Oslo Stock Exchange filing on Wednesday, Magseis is in the process of finalizing a contract with an undisclosed client for the provision of a 4D seabed seismic acquisition survey in the North Sea using the company’s proprietary Marine Autonomous Seismic System (MASS).

The duration of the contract is estimated at approximately two weeks and will start during the 2018 North Sea summer season.

The Norway-based company added it would mobilize its MASS Modular crew for the project. MASS consists of ultra-compact 4C sensor capsules, fully automated handling systems and data download.

The lightweight nodes enable the company to carry unlimited number of nodes and increase the size of the receiver spread deployed on the seabed. Magseis’ MASS node is depth rated from 0-3,000m water depth.
