Magseis Fairfield in Gulf of Mexico survey LoI

Magseis Fairfield has informed it has received a Letter of Intent (LoI) for work in the Gulf of Mexico.

The provider of seismic survey services to the offshore oil and gas industry said on Wednesday the letter of intent was for a two-month deepwater data acquisition program.

The survey is due to begin late in the fourth quarter of 2019.

“The award demonstrates our strong position in the Gulf of Mexico and the high activity level in this market,” says Per Christian Grytnes, Magseis Fairfield CEO.

Magseis Fairfield was established following Magseis’ acquisition of Fairfield Geotechnologies’ seismic technology business in December 2018.

This is not the company’s first (potential) award in the Gulf of Mexico. Magseis Fairfield in March said it had received a contingent letter of award (LOA) for a three months long data acquisition program in the Gulf of Mexico.

The CEO then said the awarded program would be the company’s fifth acquisition program in the Gulf of Mexico in 2019.
