Lundin to Use Mærsk Guardian in PL 495 (Norway)

Lundin Norway AS (Lundin) has received consent to carry out exploration drilling with the Mærsk Guardian jack-up rig in the North Sea.

The consent relates to drilling and production testing of well 7/4-3 in production licence 495, where Lundin is the operator and Spring Energy is a licensee.

Well 7/4-3 will explore two prospects called “Carlsberg Skagerrak” and “Carlsberg Chalk”, respectively.

The drilling activity will start at the end of February at the earliest. The estimated duration is between 65 and 130 days, depending on the result of the drilling.

Water depth at the site is 82 metres.

Mærsk Guardian is a jack-up drilling rig built in 1986. It is operated by Maersk Drilling Norge AS. The facility received an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) in July 2002.
