Lundin to Use Bredford Dolphin for Johan Sverdrup Works

Lundin Norway AS has received consent to use the Bredford Dolphin semi-submersible rig for drilling and production testing of the Johan Sverdrup discovery in the North Sea.

The consent applies to drilling and production testing of well 16/5-4, which belongs to production licence 501.

Planned start-up is September with a duration of approximately 46 days.

Bredford Dolphin is a third-generation semi-submersible drilling rig of the Aker H-3 type. The facility was completed in 1976.

Bredford Dolphin is owned by Fred Olsen ASA and operated by Fred Olsen’s subsidiary Dolphin AS (Dolphin). The company’s head office is in Stavanger.

The facility is registered in Singapore, with DNV as the classification society.

Bredford Dolphin was issued with an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AOC) by the PSA in 2007.
