Lundin Gets Approval to Start Production Testing at Johan Sverdrup

Norway’s oil safety watchdog has given its approval to Lundin Petroleum for the use of Bredford Dolphin rig at the Johan Sverdrup discovery in the North Sea.

Lundin Norway, a subsidiary of Swedish oil company Lundin Petroleum will use the Aker H-3 type semi-submersible rig for drilling and production testing of well 16/3-5, located in production licence 501.

The PSA Norway has informed that the operations are expected to last 21 days, depending on discovery.

Johan Sverdrup is one of the largest discoveries made on the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS) since the mid 1980s. First oil from the field is expected to start flowing in the last quarter of 2018.
