Lukoil’s Vladimir Filanovsky reaches 3 million tonnes of oil produced

Lukoil, Russia’s largest privately-held oil company, has reached a milestone of three million tonnes of oil produced at the Vladimir Filanovsky field in the Caspian Sea.

Lukoil said that the average daily production exceeded 14 thousand tonnes of oil in June 2017.

Furthermore, the company said it completed installation in the target area of the topside and of the accommodation block on substructure as part of the V. Filanovsky field Phase 2 development plan. The topside of the fixed offshore ice-resistant platform was installed earlier, in April.

Phase 2 construction and assembly operations are expected to be completed by the end of 2017.

Also, as of Tuesday, July 11, the company completed six wells and is drilling the seventh one. Namely, Lukoil completed construction of the sixth well, a water injector, and started to drill the seventh, horizontal one as well as a water injector. The first five wells, completed earlier, are producers.

According to Lukoil, the Vladimir Filanovsky field is the largest post-Soviet discovery in Russia. Commercial operation of the field, with C1+C2 reserves, equal 129 million tonnes of oil and 30 billion cubic meters of gas. The production rate at plateau phase will equal six million tonnes a year.

The field is located in the northern Caspian Sea, 220 km away from the city of Astrakhan. Water depth in the field’s area ranges from seven to 11 meters.
