The project will be a collaboration between GS Projects and Ship and Steelbuilding (SaS) at the Dutch shipyard in Waterhuizen and Groot Ship Design.

According to Longship, the PMAX ECO TRADER vessels are designed for “highly efficient fuel consumption and advanced eco-friendly technologies.”

The series is scheduled for delivery starting in 2026.

Longship said the initiative represents a step towards greener maritime operations, “reflecting Longship Group’s commitment to environmental responsibility and innovation in the shipping industry.”

To remind, in 2024, Longship entered a joint newbuilding project with Norway’s shipbroker Wagle Chartering for two general cargo ships.

The first ship, Longsun, was launched on April 19, 2024, while the second one, Longsky, was launched on July 25, 2024.

In the summer of 2024, the company also held a launching and christening ceremony for the third out of four ultra-low-emission, diesel-electric general cargo ships at Türkiye’s Atlas Shipyard.

The 8,600 dwt eco-friendly newbuild was named Longearth and is expected to be ready for delivery at the beginning of 2025.
