Little Dunham Substation Faces Residents’ Opposition (UK)

Public inquiry regarding plans for a substation at Little Dunham, which would connect the Dudgeon offshore wind farm with the national grid, ended last week at the EcoTech Centre in Swaffham with strong public opposition.

Little Dunham Parish Council chairman Simon Fowler is cited by the EDP24 news site as saying that the residents are strongly against the construction of the substation in their village and visual impact is one of their main concerns.

Warwick Energy’s proposal for the Little Dunham substation has been rejected by the Breckland Council in 2009, after which it was put before the public in June last year. Warwick Energy has proposed a similar plan for Necton which was approved by the Breckland Council, but the company said that it prefers Little Dunham.
