Kreuz Subsea, a provider of integrated offshore subsea services, deployed its SMD Quasar II ROV system for a proposed 38-day work-class project offshore Brunei.

The ROV was mobilized on board a multipurpose subsea services support vessel, Bourbon Supporter, as part of the company’s extension to the standard seasonal scope of work for its long term client.

The project consisted of inspection of a total of 175 pipelines and 584 crossings to locate possible damage to the pipelines due to barge activity in the fields.

The ROV also deployed Tornado 4 dredge system from Vortex New Zealand to remove seabed coverage of the pipelines, as well as TSS440 pipe tracker to locate buried product. There was 112 locations which required dredging. The Work scope also consisted of debris clearance on 6 pipelines.

According to Kreuz, over 2/3rds of the total project time was logged as the ROV being subsea operational.
