‘Key client’ books Solstad CSV for three years plus options

Solstad Maritime (SOMA) has signed a letter of intent (LoI) for its construction support vessel (CSV) Normand Cutter to perform subsea operations in West Africa.

The LoI was signed with a “key client”, as Solstad said. The contract will have a firm duration of three years, starting in the fourth quarter of 2026 or first quarter of 2027, including an option for three years thereafter.

The 127.5-meter-long vessel will support subsea operations in West Africa, and as part of the contract, Solstad will deliver, with support from Omega Subsea, two work-class remotely operated vehicles (WROVs) with manning, as well as tooling, survey services, and project personnel.

According to the Norwegian firm, the commercial terms and conditions are confidential.

Normand Cutter is equipped with a 300-ton active heave-compensated crane and a working deck of approximately 1,600 m2. The vessel is of VS 4125 design and was built in 2001.

The CSV previously worked in Brazil.
