Jumbo lands Vito installation gig from Shell

Jumbo, a provider of heavy lift transportation solutions, has been awarded an installation contract for the Shell-operated deep-water Vito development in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico.

The Vito development is located in the Mississippi Canyon, approximately 150 miles south of New Orleans, Louisiana, USA, in water depth of more than 4,000 feet.

Shell made the final investment decision (FID) for the Vito development in late April, which set in motion the construction and fabrication of a new, simplified host design and subsea infrastructure. Vito will be Shell’s 11th deep-water host in the Gulf of Mexico.

The development will consist of eight subsea wells with deep in-well gas lift. Production is scheduled to start in 2021.

Jumbo said on Tuesday that its installation contract involves the initial pre-lay of the mooring system as well as the subsequent tow and hook-up of the FPS.

Our engineers are already working on the detailed plans so as always we can perform a reliable, smart and efficient execution.’’

The Vito development is owned by Shell Offshore (63.11% operator) and Statoil USA E&P Inc. (36.89%).
