The Aerodyn SCD 3MW wind turbine, mounted onto Ideol’s patended Damping Pool floating foundation, is expected to start delivering power to the grid in September 2018 and operate until 2021.

The aim of this project, led by the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO), is to help develop floating technology suitable for water depths of 50 metres or more.

The project consortium also includes Marubeni, Hitachi Zosen, Glocal, Eco Power, Tokyo University, and Kyuden Mirai Energy.
