James Fisher Wins Wave Hub Gig

Business & Finance

James Fisher Marine Services has been awarded a contract from the wave energy test site operator Wave Hub Limited for the cable tail extension installation services.

Namely, Wave Hub intends to set up four 33kV rated cable tail extensions from the current dry mate connectors to four developer berths offshore Hayle, Cornwall.

The work scope involves replacing the current 11kV rated dry mate connectors with 33kV rated in-line joints, installation of four new lengths of cable tails and termination of the extension cables with half of a 33kV dry mate connector.

ETA, the subsea cable specialist engineering firm based in Hampshire UK, will supply the dry mate connectors and power joints.

To remind, Offshore Marine Management (OMM) was contracted in October last year to undertake the procurement of equipment and services in support of the above mentioned project.

According to Wave Hub, the installation contract is worth £2.83 million (approximately $4.1 million).
