James Fisher Expands London Array To-Do List

Operations & Maintenance

James Fisher Marine Services (JFMS) has extended its Balance of Plant (BoP) work scope for the London Array offshore wind farm to provide subsea services, including inspection of the substation and all 175 Siemens turbines.

Besides the BoP activities, sister company EDS HV Group will provide support services for the project’s high-voltage network on a 24/7 basis, including the associated offshore transmission owner (OFTO) assets.

JFMS said it now aims to add value to its London Array operations through further exposure to intelligent systems and services, comprising risk-based inspection, condition monitoring, further multiskilling of personnel and digital solutions.

“We’re delighted to have been selected by London Array for topside, subsea and HV maintenance and this award demonstrates the value of our integrated service offering to the offshore renewables sector,” said Fergus Graham, Executive Director at James Fisher and Sons plc.

“The complete maintenance package we are providing brings together our extensive capability across JFMS for the topside and subsea element, as well as EDS HV for HV support services. This demonstrates our capability to manage every phase of a wind farm’s life cycle, from construction support through to decommissioning.”

In April, JFMS won a contract to deliver BoP O&M services covering the next five years of operation of the London Array project.

Located in the Outer Thames Estuary in the UK, the 630MW offshore wind farm has been operational since 2013.
