Iran could supply energy to Europe via Austria

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has voiced Tehran’s readiness to supply energy to Europe via Austria. 

“Islamic Republic can be a reliable supplier of energy for Europe,” Rouhani said in a meeting with his Austrian counterpart Heinz Fischer in New York.

“Iran enjoys unique conditions in the energy sector,” said the Iranian president.

Rouhani also called for the promotion of scientific and cultural ties between Iran and Austria.

The Austrian president, for his part, welcomed the expansion of ties with Iran, including in the energy sector.
