Drydocks will provide production engineering, construction, mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, commissioning assistance, load-out, sea fastening and HVAC (EPC) for the 700MW topside.

This is the first time such a topside will be built in the Middle East, the company emphasized.

“We are pleased to be working with Petrofac and TenneT again, after previously completing several projects together for the North Sea,” said Rado Antolovic, CEO & Managing Director of DP World Maritime Services Division.

“Our joint expertise and excellent team work have delivered important infrastructure for sustainable energy generation, and I look forward to many successful project milestones to come.”

Last July, Petrofac won a contract by TenneT for the engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) of the Alpha and Beta offshore substations.

Heerema Marine Contractors will transport and install the Alpha platform at the Hollandse Kust Zuid wind farm zone in the Dutch sector of the North Sea. The platform is scheduled to become operational in 2021.
