Ha Long Shipyard Builds a Crane Barge for Damen

VINASHIN’S Ha Long shipyard has been contracted by the Damen Shipyards Group to build a crane barge type 3216.

The crane barge type 3216 is a non-self propelled pontoon, best suited for the operation in inland waterways, river and seaports, open water areas etc.

On board of the barge a jib crane of 20/8 T lifting capacity will be installed, with the 7.0m outreach and lifting speed of 3/7 m/min. The design and building of the barge is complied with the regulations of ULS Class 2A, under supervision of Lloyd’s Register.

Ha Long shipyard will build barge hull, install the equipment used on board, which will be supplied by Damen Shipyards Gorinchem.

The crane barge will be delivered to the shipowner in April 2014.
