GTT’s membrane tech to support PipeChina’s upcoming LNG projects

French LNG containment specialist GTT and PipeChina Innovation, a subsidiary of the state-owned PipeChina Group, have signed a cooperation agreement on GTT’s membrane technology for PipeChina’s upcoming LNG projects.

The agreement was signed on the occasion of the visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Beijing, China, in the presence of Chinese President Xi Jinping on 6 April.

The parties agreed on the evaluation and further promotion of GTT’s GST® Membrane Full Containment tank technology for PipeChina’s upcoming LNG projects.

PipeChina Group is currently operating seven LNG receiving terminals in China and three newbuilding LNG projects are under construction.

Jianhua Qi, Chairman of PipeChina Innovation, declared: “We are very pleased to materialise the collaboration with GTT during this presidential visit. We are keen to conduct an in-depth evaluation of their state-of-the-art membrane technology for LNG onshore storage for further adoption on PipeChina LNG projects. We look forward to a greener and more sustainable LNG storage.
