French LNG containment specialist GTT will support Qatari maritime company Nakilat with the maintenance and operation of its fleet of 26 vessels.

In other words, the parties signed a technical services agreement (TSA). Under it, Nakilat’s 26 vessels, all equipped with GTT Mark III or NO96 technologies, will be maintained by GTT.

This specifically includes GTT on-site technical assistance for inspection, maintenance, repairs, operations and engineering services.

The shipper will also have access to the HEARS emergency hotline. Thus, it will be able to contact GTT’s experts 24/7 to respond to operational issues.

Philippe Berterottière, CEO of GTT, said “We welcome the signature of this agreement with our partner Nakilat, which owns and operates a large fleet of vessels equipped with our membrane technology. Our tailor-made support services, adapted to our customers’ requirements, allow us to guarantee maximum efficiency and safety for vessels in operation.”

Nakilat has the world’s largest liquefied natural gas shipping fleet of 69 LNG carriers. The company provides the essential transportation link in Qatar’s LNG supply chain. Through its subsidiary Nakilat Shipping Qatar Limited (NSQL), it manages and operates:

  • One floating storage regasification unit (FSRU);
  • Four very large LPG carriers (VLGCs):
  • 24 LNG carriers.

Earlier, the company reported a record profit of $378.8 million for 2021, up 16.7 per cent when compared to the previous year.
