Irish tidal energy developer GKinetic has become a member of Ocean Energy Europe (OEE).

Over 120 organisations, including Europe’s leading utilities, industrialists and research institutes, trust OEE to represent the interests of Europe’s ocean energy sector.

Ocean Energy Europe’s mission is to create a strong environment for the development of ocean energy, improve access to funding, and enhance business opportunities for its members.

CEO of Ocean Energy Europe, Rémi Gruet, said: “I am pleased to welcome GKinetic Energy to the largest network of ocean energy professionals in the world. By working with innovative companies such as GKinetic, Ocean Energy Europe is able to represent the best interests of the sector as we drive its development forward.”

GKinetic’s managing director, Vincent Mc Cormack, stated: “We are excited to come on-board and look forward to what benefits and opportunities the group will bring. The calibre of fellow members and partners is a huge networking asset in its own right so we look forward to getting to know everyone.”

Vincent Mc Cormack has been invited to speak at the OEE event on 1st October 2019 in the session ‘Reducing LCOE – Maximising production while minimising CAPEX’. The session will focus on how to reduce the LCOE through technological improvements: specifically increasing yield of devices or reducing CAPEX and he will be giving an overview on how the GKinetic technology addresses these issues.
