Germany: Windreich Welcomes Regulation of Grid Connection Liability

Windreich AG, a leading wind power company in Germany and a pioneer in the offshore industry, welcomed the decision of the Federal Government to regulate the liability for delayed or disrupted grid connections of offshore wind farms. According to the plans of the Federal Government, the law should be adopted within two months.

“The new system of liability is an important signal that the Government is fully committed to the development of offshore wind energy. Our three current projects in the North Sea are right on schedule, because we have taken care of ensuring network connectivity at an early stage. The new law provides for full confidence in the capital market – that’s why we welcome this step“, says Willi Balz, CEO of Windreich AG.
