German Minister to Discuss TenneT’s Problems with Dutch Government

Philipp Rösler, German Minister of Economy, will meet with the Dutch Government representatives this week and discuss the financial problems that the transmission system operator TenneT is facing, Reuters writes.

As reported earlier, due to its financial issues, the company is claimed to be responsible for the setbacks in the country’s offshore wind development.

TenneT is one of the four German transmission system operators and is currently under a certification process, which could be used to determine whether it should withdraw from the power market.

A spokeswoman for Germany’s Economy Ministry said that the Ministry is calling for the TenneT’s Dutch parent company to fulfil the legal obligations by making available the necessary funds.
