Gas Entec of South Korea has been chosen as the engineering contractor for the LNG floating storage unit (FSU) for the 200 MW power plant in Bali to be operated by PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (PEL).

The start of the construction of the 26,000 cbm FSU is scheduled for early 2016, according to Gas Entec, that will be the engineering partner and in charge of selecting the shipyard that will carry out the construction.

The FSU will feature GTT’s membrane tanks, LNG pumps and main liquefied natural gas equipment. Cryotank Solutions, that has signed a technical assistance and license agreement with France’s GTT will construct the Mark III type membrane tanks.

Earlier in the year, Gas Entec was awarded a similar deal for the construction of a floating regasification unit for the same project. The construction of the FRU is progressing following the construction deal signing with Kangnam Corporation, the company said.

At the beginning of October, PEL informed that JSK Shipping / Humpuss transportation consortium has been selected to operate the FSU and supply liquefied natural gas to the Bali powerplant.
