Galway Group brings in more LNG experience

Galway Group has expanded its global energy consulting presence with the addition of six seasoned energy experts.

The new team members bring several decades of energy industry experience to Galway’s portfolio of global projects. Their commercial and technical backgrounds enhance Galway’s techno-commercial capabilities across the natural gas, LNG, and power value chains, Galway Group said on Tuesday.

“We are pleased to welcome our new team members to Galway’s offices in Houston and Singapore,” said Hal Miller, Galway Group President. “Our clients will benefit greatly from the extensive energy industry knowledge and transactional experience they bring to our rapidly expanding business activities in Asia, the Americas and beyond.”

Kurt Lindahl, who will join Galway on September 30, brings 30 years of global gas, gas pipeline, power, and LNG commercial experience. Kurt started his career at NGPL, and later worked with Oxy to commercialize upstream gas assets in Southeast Asia. He managed El Paso Global Power’s Asian power plant portfolio, and, most recently, worked in Chevron’s LNG Division and as GM of Chevron’s Tokyo office supporting the Gorgon and Wheatstone LNG marketing efforts. Kurt joins Galway Group as a Managing Director in Houston.

Martin Paliga has over 30 years of experience in the energy business, including over 15 years in the LNG industry. Prior to joining Galway, Martin held LNG marketing positions with RasGas and Qatar Petroleum, and was Commercial Manager for a major LNG and power project in northern Spain. Martin joins Galway Group as a Managing Director in Singapore and will head up Galway’s European office beginning the middle of 2015.

Irfan Choudhry has over 16 years of diverse energy sector experience from a financial, commercial, and strategic planning perspective. Prior to joining Galway, Irfan spent seven years with Wood Mackenzie in London and Singapore as part of the gas and power consulting practice. Before Wood Mackenzie, Irfan spent nine years in the financial sector with a focus on energy sector companies. Irfan joins Galway Group as a Senior Director in Singapore.

Alexis Faury brings over 15 years of financial, banking, project and industrial experience in the oil and gas industry. Alexis worked extensively in emerging markets, particularly in Africa and Asia, and most recently in the Middle East. As a banker, he has advised on and closed over US$50 billion worth of debt and equity financing. Alexis joins Galway Group as a Director in Singapore.

Asish Mohanty has over 15 years of transactional, business development and strategy experience in the natural gas industry. Prior to joining Galway, Asish managed all LNG-related client interactions in North America in Wood Mackenzie’s Global LNG division. He spent nine years with the BG Group, where he was involved in business development, as well as on the commercial side of various LNG transactions. Asish joins Galway Group as a Senior Director in Houston.

Matthew Tan brings 16 years of asset valuation and decision strategy experience, including several years with BG, Chevron, Shell, and IHS. Matthew has worked on gas/LNG projects globally, including Tangguh LNG, Egyptian LNG, Olokola LNG, Gorgon LNG, North West Shelf LNG, and Upstream Exploration and Drilling (South China Sea). Matthew joins Galway Group as a Senior Director in Singapore.
