This new regional facility, set up in a record time of eight weeks, will be known by the name Drishti, the Sanskrit word for vision.

The addition of the new Drishti ROC will allow clients in the Middle East and India to benefit from Fugro’s remote inspection and positioning solutions. It will operate on a 24-hour basis.

“We are not only aspiring to be the most innovative, fastest-moving agile organisation but, more importantly, the organisation that consistently delivers outstanding value to our clients,” said Wim Herijgers, Fugro’s group director for Development and Digital Transformation.

“The launch of the Remote Operations Centre in India is our commitment to providing continuous, safe, efficient and sustainable operations.”

Fugro currently operates a core global network of eight major Remote Operations Centres. This is complemented with several regional ROCs, strategically positioned near Fugro’s major clients and projects.

Last month, Fugro won a two-year contract with Indian marine service provider OCS Services for remote positioning services off the west coast of India.

The company will help OCS deliver on ONGC’s Protective Coating of Process Platform Project 1 (PCPP1), an infrastructure project to maintain and refurbish 32 offshore platforms in seven clusters.
