French Ambassador Visits Anholt Offshore Wind Farm (Denmark)

The construction of Anholt Offshore Wind Farm is subject to much attention. In mid-September, the Danish Wind Industry Association, Vindindustrien, and DONG Energy invited around 200 guests to visit the wind farm, and on Tuesday 25 September, the French ambassador to Denmark, Véronique Bujon-Barré, visited Anholt Offshore Wind Farm together with a delegation of business people and French stakeholders.

The French authorities and businesses are eager to accumulate knowledge and experience as part of the preparations for future offshore projects, which are under development in France.

In France, DONG Energy, in cooperation with the major French energy company, EDF, and the wind turbine manufacturer Alstom, have tendered for several projects, and DONG Energy has been selected to participate in the development of three, potential offshore wind farms.

A proud Flemming Thomsen, Project Director of Anholt Offshore Wind Farm, welcomed the guests: “In Denmark, we have something that France would like to have, more precisely: Offshore wind power, and I think it is interesting that we can show the French ambassador what the French offshore wind farms can look like in 8-10 years as well as participating in establishing a network with the French businesses.”
