France Officially Publishes Second Call for Offshore Wind Tenders

The French Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) officially issued a second call for tenders for construction of offshore wind farms, which was published in the Official Journal of the European Union on March 16.

The launch of this tender was announced in January by the French Minister of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy Delphine Batho.

It involves the construction of offshore wind farms off Le Tréport and the two islands of Yeu and Noirmoutier and complements the first tender, which in turn will enable the deployment of nearly 2GW of wind power along the French coast.

Deadline for submission of bids is at 2 p.m. on Friday, November 29, 2013.
